Join local nature illustrator Rosalie Haizlett for a 2-part, all-levels workshop on how to use journaling from life in the outdoors to deepen our connection to nature. Using a combination of writing, sketching, and consulting field guides, students will come away with a variety of playful, creative ways to awaken all our senses and record our surroundings.
Both sessions will start at Mycelium for the first 25 minutes, then involve field trips to local nature spots within Elkins city limits. We will walk and/or carpool to our field trip locations. Please bring sturdy walking shoes, a water bottle, a notebook, and binoculars or a magnifying loupe if you have them (totally fine if not!). All other materials will be provided.
Class will begin promptly at 5:30 to maximize our time together.
Kids 8+ welcome with adult.
